Deadline for language buddy signup

The deadline for language buddy signup is on October 4th. After this date, you can still sign up, but you will not be guaranteed a partner. You can ask the EAA board at any conversation corner if you have questions.

Japanese language program, winter 2016 Meiji University

Meiji University will offer a scholarship (JPY 80.000) to students who belong to Meiji University’s partner institution, and meet the requirements set by JASSO. This means students of Linköping University can apply, and the deadline is October 15 2015. The program length is 11 February – 25 February 2016.

Event: Kanelbullens dag

Swedes love cinnamon rolls so much that we have a whole day dedicated for it, and of course we in EAA want to celebrate it, too! This Thursday, we want to share some kanelbullar with you, so come to CC and fika with us~ Kanelbullar are free for members of the EAA!

The event takes place on Thursday (oct 1) in U10/U11 at 17:15

P.S. The real Kanelbullens dag is celebrated on October 4th.

Japanese language program, winter 2016 Meiji University

Sign up for Language buddy and we will pair you up with someone who wants to study your language! (e.g. if you are chinese and want to speak english, we will pair you up with an english speaking person who wants to learn chinese.)

Welcoming the new board of 15/16!

As of the first of June, the old board of the East Asian Association stepped down, and made way for the new board. We would like to thank the board of 14/15 for their continuous hard work and wish them good luck with their studies. Some of them are going abroad this autumn, and we wish them all the best! 

Now, let’s introduce the new board of 15/16:

Mattias Stömblad Lind – President

Hi, I’m Mattias and I’m studying engineering physics and electronics international (the Yi program) in my 5th year of this program and am now specialising in applied mathematics for my masters degree. I’m also studying japanese and in my 3ed year I was in Sendai, Japan at Tohoku University for my exchange year. In my free time I like to brew wine, watch movies/series/cartoons, read some manga or party.

Hello everyone! My name is Joakim but everyone calls me Jocke. I’m currently in my second year of studying Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering – International. I also study japanese as a part of my program and I will do a year of exchange studies in Japan in my third year. We have a lot of fun events planned for this year and I’m really looking forward to meeting you all.

Hello! My name is Therese Luong and will be the cashier of EAA 15/16. I’m currently studying my second year of Applied physics and electronics, also known as Y-program. I love to meet new people and discover new cultures. And I love asian food, especially Vietnamese and Cantonese cuisine ^^ Hope to see both old and new faces at CC coming semester!

Sara Nilsson – Secretary

Hi there! Sara is my name and I’m going to be the secretary of EEA 15/16. I’m going to start my second year studying Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering with a bit of Japanese. Hopefully I’ll spend my third year as a exchange student somewhere in Japan! In my spare time I like to read books and manga, watch mystery shows and cook food. I really look forward to this upcoming year and I hope you all will have lots of fun at our events!

Hello! My name is Malte and I’m going to be responsible for this year’s Conversation Corners (shortened CC). This year marks my first year in Industrial Engineering – International, with some Japanese added in. I’m quite the goofball but I love socializing so if you see me around don’t hesitate to say hi! When I’m not studying I’d rather watch ice hockey with my family or hanging out with my friends! Hello members of the EAA! My name is Daniel and I’m in my second year of studying the international applied physics and electronics programme at our beloved Linköping University. I’m studying japanese as my language alongside all the math and physics and plan to go to Japan for one year of exchange studies in two years time. I’m very happy to be a part of the board of 15/16 and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at conversation corner and our other events, it’s going to be a good time!

 

Pancake pub 10th of September

The East Asian Association would like to invite all students from near and far to our first event of the semester in Gasquen, Kårallen.

This Thursday, we’ll be introducing you to every swedes favourite Thursday meal – the pancake!

The pub opens at 15:00 and we’ll be serving pancakes with jam and whipped cream for 30 SEK. We will also be signing up new members and selling our patches for your overalls/basårsrock for 20 SEK each.

 

Conversation Corner

There will be no conversation corner this thursday. Instead, it’s the Pancake pub in Gasquen which you can read about in the previous paragraph. Next week (w. 38) CC will be held as usual at 17:15, Tuesday and Thursday in the U-corridor.
